Custom Portrait Commissions are offered in a number of different styles and mediums to suit personal preference and budgets, and are priced according to size, medium, reference photo quality and the time required to complete them.  A firm quote will be provided to you on receipt of your reference photographs and your personal requirements for your custom portrait.

Portrait Options:

Photograph Manipulations: Your favorite photograph will be edited into your prefered computer generated style using PhotoShop filters and editing software.  Eg: Pop Art, background alterations, text additions, detail enhancements, multiple photograph collage.

Digital Paintings: Real Medium Emulations are paintings that are created by hand, pixel by pixel using a graphics tablet, pressure sensitive pen, my computer and powerful graphics programs that allow me to paint and draw in a variety of digital mediums such as pastel and oils.  These paintings are NOT computer generated by a few clicks of a mouse – I have many years experience with traditional ‘real’ mediums that I rely on to create these digital artworks, from the initial sketch to the final composition, colour additions, tonal adjustments to create accurate form and my artistic vision and unique brush strokes that identifies my artwork as my own, irrespective of which medium I create with.

Digital Paintings are printed with archival quality inks on Gallery quality Fine Art papers and canvas. There are many benefits to Digital Paintings apart from the lack of mess, fumes and toxic ingredients, and Digital Painting has quickly become my preferred art medium!  As there is no lengthy drying periods, Digital Paintings can be completed in much shorter periods of time (days compared to months).  The bottom line is this shorter creation time means Digital Paintings can be offered at a lower cost for large impressive artworks that you can proudly display in your home – once printed, the digital painting can even be hand embellished to emphasize the detail and and provide a 3D finish to the digital brushwork.

Original Pastel Paintings: Fine Art created with Artist quality soft pastels on a variety of archival quality supports.  Pastel Paintings are very delicate and require professional framing under glass.

Original Oil Paintings: Heirloom quality original oil paintings are created using the finest quality oil paints, mediums and canvas.  Nothing can compare to the luxury of commissioning an original oil painting.  Oil paintings require the longest time to create, and cannot be shipped until they are completely dry so please allow up to six months for completion.

PHOTOGRAPHIC REFERENCE: I prefer to work from my own reference material when possible,  and as a professional photographer, I do offer a photography Session for my Painted portrait clients.  However if you are not local to me, your favorite high quality, detailed photographs can be sent to me by email or postal mail for me to work from.

Digital Paintings: INTRODUCTORY PRICE: 11″x14″ archival pigments on Fine Art paper from $220.00AU

Original Pastel Paintings: 11″x14″ from $800.00AU unframed.

Original Oil Paintings: 11″x 14″ from $1000.00Au unframed

Commission Terms:

A 100% Satisfaction is Guarantee accompanies all portrait commissions – your Portrait will not be shipped or final payment required until you are happy with the end result.

A non-refundable 30% booking fee deposit is required to secure your Custom Portrait Painting and the balance of payment is not payable until after you have approved a proof image of the final artwork  that will be sent to you by email.

The Artist, Michelle Wrighton retains copyright to all art work for display, publicity and promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.  A discount may be offered at the Artist’s discretion for reproduction of commissioned artwork that may have potential for the art print market.

Portraits can be shipped worldwide.  International payments are accepted through PayPal only.
